Hampton used a big fourth quarter to defeat Delaware State 20-14, as they scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to remain unbeaten in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play. The Pirates would get on the board first with 37 seconds remaining in the third quarter, when quarterback David Legree capped a seven-play, 54-yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown run. Delaware State would then get into the swing of things when the Hornets called a halfback pass and Darius Jackson connected with Justin Wilson from 23 yards out. The Pirates would take the next drive 85 yards down the field before Legree connected with receiver Jarvis Brown from 37 yards out to put Hampton back on top 14-7 on a two-point conversion from Legree to Reginald Hicks.
